Scannable is a data company that builds tools and datasets to connect safety equipment stakeholders in the technical equipment industries, such as utilities, renewables.

We are a small and agile VC backed team with big ambitions. We have clear goals we are going for, and as our first hire in the engineering team, you will be instrumental in helping us achieve these. We are based in Queenstown-Lakes, this is a remote-first role however we would love if you were based close by for the occasional catch-up.

This role is for a contract role, but we are also hiring for a full-time React & Node position, so there is room for a full-time position if you have that experience and like the fit.

About the role:

• Work as part of a small team to build React Native iOS / Android applications for an early-stage VC backed start-up.
• Architect, build and maintain our React Native app with clean code
• Implement pixel perfect UI's that match designs
• Implement clean, modern, smooth animations and transitions that provide an excellent user experience
• Integrate with our GraphQL API and work with our full-stack developer to work on requirements
• Write unit and integration tests
• Release to the Apple and Google Play stores
• Work with native modules when required
• Work as part of a small team, which will include a full-stack developer with React Native experience, a product owner, and a designer

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience working with React Native
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• Typescript experience. You don’t need to be an expert but are willing to learn as we develop solely in TS across our stack.
